What Does the PTA Do?
Beyond the typical volunteering in the school and classroom, the PTA is in charge of many different events and programs to enrich our students' learning environment. Here you can see the different programs, events, and benefits provided to our community through Lakeview PTA

Family Picnic
Every Fall after the start of school, we help put on the beloved Family Picnic! Join with other families at the school for food, music, and fun!
Golden Apple
The Golden Apple Award is given to recognize educators who demonstrate excellence in their engagement with their community and families. The award is presented annually.
Reflections
Reflections is a national program run through the PTA. It welcomes, free of charge, students from all grades and abilities to explore and be involved in the arts. Annually, thousands of students will reflect on a common theme and create original works of art in the categories of Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, 2D Visual Arts, and 3D Visual Arts.

Spring Festival
Another beloved tradition of our school, we celebrate the end of the year with a carnival-like celebration! We embrace different cultures (while celebrating the Brazilian culture that guides our DLI Program), and welcome different foods, performances, and costumes! Last year we even added in a teacher dunk tank, which was a huge hit!
Spirit Nights
Spirit Nights at restaurants have become a new tradition that has taken flight at Lakeview. We in the PTA know that fundraising is difficult. No one likes to force their children to sell something, and funds are tight at home as it is. We as the PTA have turned to Spirit Nights to support all our other programs. Once a month, dine at an indicated restaurant (make sure to mention you are there for Lakeview!). At the end of the night, a percentage of the proceeds will go back to Lakeview PTA. This is how we are hoping to fund all our events and activities, so we hope to have as much participation at these spirit nights as possible so we can continue providing for our children!
Yearbook
Did you know the yearbook is done solely by PTA volunteers? Every spring a small group of parents comb through every picture and help to compile the yearbooks for the students. The PTA also runs a beloved tradition of the yearbook cover contest. Each student is allowed to enter their personal design idea for the yearbook cover. The teachers and staff then vote on the entries and the winner and top entries are spotlighted in the yearbook!

School TShirts
All schools have school tshirts for purchase. At Lakeview, the PTA traditionally takes it a step further. We pay for a free tshirt for every student. This creates a sense of unity and belonging in the school that helps every child to participate, regardless of circumstances. This is where the majority of our funds goes every year, and it is a tradition we hope to continue for a long time to come.
Teacher Appreciation
Teacher Appreciation week is loved by our staff and students alike. We gain PTA volunteers to decorate every teacher's door as a thank you that lasts up all week. The students love walking the halls and seeing the different teacher doors.
6th Grade Graduation
6th Grade Graduation is the big event at the end of a student's Lakeview Education. In addition to supplying a small gift to each student, PTA volunteers help to set up and run the graduation ceremony.

Open Volunteer Positions
At Lakeview Elementary PTA, we are always looking for enthusiastic individuals who are willing to contribute their time and talents to support our school community. Whether you can spare a few hours or a few days, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved and make a meaningful impact (even some you can do from the comfort of your home).
