Here is a quick explanation of how the meeting minutes and voting will work. We know that people are busy and cannot always attend every PTA meeting. As such, we have provided a way for parents to still be involved and have a voice!
We will still conduct our usual meetings, and take note of votes and opinions of those present, marking in the minutes that these votes are preliminary. After each meeting, we will create a forum post (title will be the time and date of the meeting) that has all the meeting's minutes. You may watch the meeting video on our website or the YouTube link provided if you want further details on those minutes.
In the comments, you may indicate your vote. We ask that every comment in this section includes your full name, the item you are voting on, and your indicated vote. You may discuss more than one item in your comments, we just ask that you clearly indicate each new item you are commenting or voting on. In order to allow for progress and flow, we must cut off official voting within 24 hours of our meeting start time (refer to the meeting's title to see when that time will be). You are welcome to continue commenting and discussing items after that time, but all official voting will be closed. After 24 hours have passed, we will go over the comments and votes and add them to our previous numbers. We will then post a follow up forum post with the voting results, and add the official voting results to our minutes. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us!
Just a further reminder, while anyone can comment and volunteer in the PTA (and we welcome ALL participation), only registered PTA members are allowed to have their vote counted. Registering is cheap and easy! You just need to enter your name and pay a small $6.00 fee per member. Go here to register.
Thank you so much for your support and participation.
